Real-life Filming Experience in a Safe Learning Environment

Our latest program concept, now in development, is an on-set demonstration called the Film Youth Initiative (FYI). This exciting, one-of-a-kind learning experience will take selected grade 11 and 12 students and career counselors from BC behind the scenes and into the world of the motion picture.

The program will take the form of a real film shoot - with one slight difference. While working professionals will display their crafts, informal "cuts" in the action will let them explain their jobs, the realities of the film industry and the working conditions on set. FYI will also highlight the expectations, vocabulary and knowledge required for work on set in British Columbia.

FYI is a truly interactive learning experience designed to provide an invaluable overview and introduction to work-based crafts in the film industry to help youth determine if they should eventually pursue further training in this field.
