The BC Institute of Film Professionals is a provincially-registered non-profit society, governed by a Board of Directors who represent most sectors of the film industry, provincial government ministries and agencies with involvement in the industry, and private and public educational institutions.
Our members include representatives from the following industry sectors:

- IATSE Local 669, International Photographers Guild
- Union of BC Performers/BC Branch of ACTRA
- Teamsters Union Local No. 155

Participation from the educational sector covers 6 private institutions and 7 public institutions:
- Private, represented by Vancouver Film School
- Public, represented by Capilano College
Provincial government involvement has come from the Ministry of Advanced Education, the Ministry of Skills Development and Labour and the Industry Training and Apprenticeship Commission
